YaadOS is a custom-themed Linux distribution, delivered as a ready-to-run VirtualBox VM, that boots you straight back to a 2003 Indian cyber café: dial-up handshake and all.
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
Our team had 3 members. We made 4-5 retro games in C ourselves in the OS we built. Our team is pretty well experienced.
What challenges did you encounter?
The hardest part was making YaadOS feel like a finished retro appliance, not just a Linux desktop with a theme. We had to solve boot-to-arcade startup, offline game licensing, consistent keyboard-only controls, Escape-to-exit behavior across different emulators and games, and the final VirtualBox OVA packaging/testing process.
