TerraTrail
TerraTrail is a community-based web game that transforms real-world walking and running into a shared, interactive world map. Every step a user takes in real life draws a visible path on the globe, contributing to their personal kingdom and to global community challenges.
Using live location data (with privacy-safe abstraction), TerraTrail visualizes human movement as evolving roads, territories, and progress on a real map. Individually, users grow their own realm by walking new paths. Collectively, communities compete and collaborate to achieve global goals—such as expanding cities, connecting regions, or reaching shared distance milestones.
The project blends health, gaming, and social interaction by encouraging physical activity while creating a persistent, shared digital world. Instead of points or badges, users leave meaningful traces—paths that represent real human effort and cooperation.
