Submitty: Archiving Student's Course Data

Submitty is an educational tool intended for academic institutions. It supports course management with assignment collection, manual grading, online testing, discussion forums, office hour queues, peer grading, semester reports, material distribution, and auto-grading for programming assignments.

Going into this we had experience with the MVC architectures that many web application projects have. Still, we didn't have too much experience with the particular framework and tech stack used by Submitty but that allowed us to learn about new technologies that we otherwise would not have had.

We encountered several challenges such as setting up the project, which led us into a small journey of troubleshooting and debugging. We also had much difficulty deciding the method of gathering HTML files for downloading, from looking into crawlers and scrapers to finally deciding on using a variable that stored HTML as a string.
