A first person horror-esque game where there is supposed to be a variety of puzzles (still in progress)
What tools did you use to create your project?
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
We didn't have any previous experience with game design using Unreal Engine or any game design in general. Me and my teammate mostly are focused on web dev so this was new territory for us.
What challenges did you encounter?
There were a lot of bugs in the code and since it was our first time doing anything with Unreal Engine, we had to constantly look up the issues online for answers. The learning curve was also kind of steep since anything Unreal Engine is a game engine and there is a bunch of new controls you have to learn in 24 hours. I overcame most of these challenges by watching a few tutorials and using some of assets from the asset store for the harder part of the games like the environment. Since this was just my first version I mostly only had time for coding and not designing the assets myself.
