We're creating a game where you work in a job where you have to catch ducks. They're running away rapidly because a fox is lurking around. You must catch them before they get lost, but beware, you may accidentally catch the fox in your hurry, and it may eat all your ducks. In that case you will be fired. Also if you lose more than 3 ducks, you will be fired.
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
I had some experience creating non-responsive websites based only in HTML and CSS. Creating a website game using JavaScript was a new experience for me.
My friend Raam had no experience working in web development, and so he helped in the ideation of the game and the design of the sprites in the game.
We used images of a duck and a fox that we didn't create to represent the sprites in the game.
What challenges did you encounter?
We planned on incorporating many features in the game, like background music composed using the squeaks of a rubber duckie, difficulty levels, powerups, etc. However, we were on a time crunch, so we were not able to add all these features, only those essential to the functionality of the app.
While developing the app, we also faced some issues with implementing our ideas, because of our lack of experience working with the technology we used. We also had issues with placing the fox and ducks at random places, but we eventually figured it out. However, we could not make the ducks dissapear after set intervals - getting "lost".
