This CodeDay we decided to try something new! We wanted to address something related to the new virtual environment that we are now in. Our team had never used HTML or CSS before, so we spent some time learning and researching the languages. Using a Raspberry Pi Zero W, we setup a NGINX web server to host our website. Starting from scratch, and with lots of coding, we made a functional webserver!
And it was really fun!
Future Improvements:
> Add more content
>>> Add Videos -
>>> Online Scams - What to look out for and how to protect yourself.
(Fake masks/hand sanitizer)
>>> What other people have done -
> Make multiple webpages that can be accessed through a main page
> Hosting the web server on an actual domain
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
Vervin: I have experience in some programming languages like Java and Python, however; I’ve never made an HTML webpage before. It was really a challenge to learn a language with a completely different syntax style!
Val: I have done some projects in the past with Scratch and MIT App inventor. This CodeDay, I learned HTML and CSS. This is the first project that I have done with this programming language! 😁
Victor: I have heard about HTML and CSS before, but I never knew they powered websites! I took on the visual part of this project.
