This is a deep learning-based application to colorize black and white images. We constructed a convolutional neural network using Tensorflow Keras. It utilized the LAB colorspace, using the L (brightness) as an input, and outputting the ab (colors) for the image. Unfortunately, the model halted training mid-way through and was unable to produce the accuracy of results we were looking for. Model architecture was based off of this research paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1712.03400.pdf.

How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?

Justin: I have been coding for about a year. I have mainly coded in javascript and python and made some applications on react. I am fairly new to ML and this is going to be my first major machine learning backed project.
Matthew: I started coding around 9 months ago. I primarily know javascript and python. I recently learned how to use React and this is my first ML project.
