NoStrike is a simple cross-platform app for anybody who intends to live stream and play music, ensuring any copyright issues associated with the music are avoided. It does this in two ways. The first is through a browser extension that people viewing the stream can download which allows them to hear any music that the streamer is listening to (without it being broadcast live over the stream, avoiding copyright issues). The second way is by detecting copy written music coming from the streamers device and replacing it with copyright free alternatives to live stream (this allows people who do not have the browser extension installed to still hear similar music). The extension is made using Mozilla's cross-browser extension solution (WebExtensions) and the desktop client is made with Rust (bc Rust is amazing 😁).

How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?

We both having been coding for several years.

Ian - Experience in several languages, but best at JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python (this project was a big learning experience for me - I am brand new to Rust)

Davis - Experience in Go, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Java and more (also relatively new to Rust)
