A speedrunning game based around gaining and maintaining breakneck speeds. And a lot of wall jumping. (made in godot)
What tools did you use to create your project?
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
we have previous coding and game creation experience but very little to none with 3D platformers and godot. everything in the demo course was created by us during codeday, but the stage models on the test course are from Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure.
What challenges did you encounter?
learning how to do weight painting in blender and make decent animations, learning how to import models from blender to godot, getting the normals in blender to properly work as collision in godot, figuring out what trig functions magically make our code work, and figuring out how to tween animations in godot because the easy way is weirdly obscure. I had to learn some calculus to make this thingy work - g
